Tata Motor Limited has confirmed the delivery date of the Tata Punch EV facelift. Customers who have been waiting for an update on the timing of their delivery can now look forward to receiving their units sometime by the end of February. Overwhelming response from customers after booking has led to us reporting the delivery date being as soon as possible.
The Tata Punch EV facelift is the first significant update made to the all-new Electric Version of the Tata Punch Micro SUV. This model has been updated to improve range, features, ownership options, and remain true to the rugged style that has helped the Tata Punch be successful in Compact SUV Sales.
Tata Motors has implemented a new pricing structure for the Punch EV facelift with the objective of appealing to wider audiences. The starting price (ex-showroom) for those purchasing the electric SUV via standard purchase is ₹9.69 lakh. Additionally, the model can be purchased through Tata’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, starting at an introductory price of ₹6.49 lakhs, thereby making the upfront cost of ownership substantially lower than what it would normally be. Consumers under this plan will pay for battery usage separately from the cost of their vehicle, which promotes greater affordability in adopting an EV.
The Punch EV facelift offers both a 30kWh and a 40kWh battery pack configuration. The maximum ARAI certified range of the larger battery variant is 468 km, placing it among the best-performing electric vehicles on the market today. As both battery pack configurations are capable of supporting 65kW DC fast charging, they can be charged quickly, more easily utilized for everyday use, and greatly enhance the ability to take longer urban drives.
The facelift of the Punch will also add many features to improve comfort and technology. Some important features added to the new model include: ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple driving modes and an illuminated charging status indicator. Furthermore, the Tata Punch will also gain improved safety as there are now 6 airbags available and all advanced electronic safety systems available on higher-range variants.
As the new model begins deliveries at the end of February, it should quickly gain traction in the Indian EV market. The Punch will offer a good range of options for both first-time EV buyers and urban consumers currently using traditional fossil fuel vehicles, including a longer range, more flexible ownership options and the total upgrade in features.
