The upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is set to mark a major step for Toyota Motor Corporation in India’s fast-growing electric vehicle market. The company has revealed key details of its new electric SUV, which is expected to launch in India soon with a competitive price range and long driving range. The Urban Cruiser Ebella will be Toyota’s first mainstream electric SUV in the country and is expected to attract buyers looking for a practical and feature-packed EV.
According to early estimates, the Urban Cruiser Ebella could be priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹24 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant and battery configuration. The electric SUV will likely be offered in three variants – E1, E2, and E3. The base E1 variant is expected to come with a smaller battery pack, while the higher trims will offer a larger battery and additional premium features.
Toyota plans to offer two battery options in the Urban Cruiser Ebella. The entry-level 49 kWh battery pack is expected to deliver a claimed driving range of up to 440 km on a single charge. Meanwhile, the larger 61 kWh battery pack available in the higher variants could provide a range of up to 543 km, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its segment.
In terms of features, the SUV is expected to come equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, premium sound system, and a panoramic sunroof. Toyota may also include connected car technology, wireless charging, and ventilated seats in the higher trims to enhance comfort and convenience.
Safety will also be a key focus in the new electric SUV. The Urban Cruiser Ebella is expected to offer multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in higher variants. These features aim to improve both passenger safety and driving confidence.
Once launched, the Urban Cruiser Ebella will compete with electric SUVs such as the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Tata Curvv EV in the Indian market. With its strong brand value, competitive pricing, and impressive driving range, Toyota’s upcoming EV could become an attractive option for buyers looking to switch to electric mobility.
Toyota is expected to announce the final pricing and booking details closer to the official launch in India. The Urban Cruiser Ebella could play a crucial role in expanding the company’s electric vehicle lineup in the country while offering consumers a reliable and long-range electric SUV option.
